A unique school network
The network of French lycées around the world, run by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), is the world’s largest school network.
This school network makes it possible to follow a French curriculum throughout the world, from nursery school through to the Baccalauréat, and welcomes children of all nationalities.
This network enables our pupils to benefit every year from exchange programmes, to participate in international projects and to join a worldwide alumni network.
The school project
«Working for excellence and success for all. »
Our Educational Project aims to consolidate the excellence of our school. Here are the principal points on which we concentrate our efforts.
Success for all
Encouraging learning and supporting pupils along their chosen pathway, from nursery school to the last year of high school.
School climate
Life and well-being at the school.
Efficiency
Driving the strategies of the players to make our functioning transparent.
Influence and Reputation
Strengthening our institutional and partnership roots.
Our projects are open to the world
Our adherence to many global principles is reflected in the lycée’s international approach
Inclusive education
«School must enable every pupil to develop their skills and express their potential, while taking into account specific needs. »
This commitment operates within a statutory framework (Laws “for equal rights and opportunities” (2005), “for school inclusion” (2013) and “the school of trust” (2019)) and through the commitment of the AEFE that welcomes pupils with special needs as part of its strategic orientation plan.
The Lycée français Jean-Monnet implements measures for inclusive education and also has its own support plans to lead all pupils to success and fulfilment.
Examinations and further study
The Lycée français Jean-Monnet prepares pupils for official French examinations for which it is also an examination centre.
The Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB)
The DNB is the diploma awarded at the end of the Troisième (ninth grade) at the college or middle school. Pupils in the British and German international sections take the international version of the DNB. Pupils in the British International Section take the IGCSE in English Language and English Literature at the end of the Seconde or 10th grade.
The Baccalauréat
This is the diploma awarded on graduating from the lycée and for entry to further education in France or abroad. It is the culmination of studies in the last two years of the lycée. Four options are proposed : conventional section, European section, British or German international section.
The lycée also prepares pupils for recognised diplomas in German, English, Spanish and Dutch
