Programme
Cycle 2: the basics
CP, CE1 and CE2 (years 2,3,4)
The curriculum includes lessons that encourage students to question the world, arts lessons (visual arts and music education), physical education and sports, and moral and civic education.
Cycle 3: consolidation
CM1, CM2 and 6ème (years 5,6,7)
Pupils consolidate what they have learned and discover the sciences and technology, history / geography and art history.
In addition to the ability to reason and reflect, a sense of observation, a taste for experimentation, sensitivity, motor skills and creative imagination are all developed.

Construction of a humanist culture
In class or in the library, pupils study literary texts of different genres and from different periods. They work on diverse artistic works, including painting and architecture.
Value is also attached to the practice of the dramatic arts and music.

Education in the sciences and new technologies
Our school has high-performance tools to help students master new technologies: a multimedia computer room, tablets, and science kits.

Physical education and sport
Physical education is taught for two hours per week.
The school has a gymnasium, a dojo and an orienteering course. In CM2 (Year 6), pupils go to the swimming pool.

Encouragement and appreciation of plurality and the diverse aptitudes of pupils.
The teacher continuously adapts the teaching to ensure that every pupil develops in line with their potential.
Three hours a week are co-taught with two teachers in the classroom to monitor and support students in a more personalised manner.
Supplementary educational activities allow us to support pupils experiencing temporary difficulties or with activities relating to the school’s mission.
Students' progress is continuously monitored in class. Twice a year, families receive their child's school report containing teachers' comments.
Language pathways
The Lycée Français Jean-Monnet offers intensive English, German and Dutch language classes in its elementary school.
Depending on the family's plans, the child's preferences and in consultation with the teaching staff, families can choose from a wide range of options.
Language classes are given in “progression” groups. These ensure each pupil learns in a stimulating environment, irrespective of their level.
Access to the “bilingual” class with an equal number of hours taught in French and English is subject to an assessment of the level of English and French. There are a limited number of places.
Pupils who choose this pathway take all classes together and there are no groups of different levels.
The ChamThé class
From CE1 to CM2 (years 3 to 6), the CHAMThé classes propose additional instruction in choral singing, music, theatre and vocal technique.
These courses are given at the school by external professionals. Pupils put on at least one show a year.
Motivation is essential to join a CHAMThé class. Although there is an audition, previous experience is not necessary, simply a desire to sing with a group and an interest in music. Pupils in these classes have an extra hour of school attendance, finishing at 12.30 rather than 11.30 on Wednesdays.

Please consult the brochure on the ChamThé class.
